Activities

All the cabins lie on a 1400ha property. There are about 20km of drivable roads, and another 20km of road for tractor providing easy access to all areas. And if you like to use hiking poles – bring them along.

There are several mountains around 1000m high. If you go all the way to the top, you will have an excellent view. Round-trips are also possible. A wide variety of wild animals can be found, most easily spotted is the elk. If you want to see one, the best time is after dusk or early morning.

You will find mountain cranberries, blueberries, raspberries and mushrooms scattered all over the areas.

Winter usually brings ample snow. We will prepare tracks for those who want to go cross country skiing. If you are into downhill, the Vrådal ski resort offers the world’s first 8-seat chair lift. Queues are non-existent.

In the Vråvatn lake you can fish trout, gwyniad, char and perch. You can use a fishing rod, although a fishing net will give you an easier catch. There are also 4 smaller mountain lakes on the property where you can fish trout.

Other activities in the region
The roads around the Vråvatn lake are excellent for bicycling. They are not too hilly, the scenery is beautiful, and you can find nice places to swim all along. For a more challenging ride, try the forest roads at Dale. More than 20km are available.

The village of Vrådal offers sightseeing by boat, horse-riding, water activities, and in summer, the ski lift is equipped with gondolas for easy access to the highland.

Other recommended activities in Telemark include a trip on the Telemark canal, and a visit to the aquatic centre at Telemark Sommarland.

Starting from Vrådal, most points of interest in southern Norway are within a day-trip by car. You can reach Oslo, Hardangerfjord, Lysebotn (Prekestolen) and the entire south coast.

Catering

Frequently, the large cabins at Dale are chosen for family reunions or celebrations. We can put you in touch with catering services that will provide first-class food for such occasions.

Hunting

The hunting grounds at Dale are easily accessible by road. For the passionate hunter we can offer the following opportunities:

Long weekend with elk and deer hunting including accommodation at the Dale Large Cabin.

Long-term rental of the Festøyl cabin including a private terrain for game hunting.
