VRÅDAL IN TELEMARK
Vrådal is situated in Telemark, a sparsely populated and mountainous county in the middle of southern Norway. In Vrådal there are two large lakes, Nisser and Vråvatn. Surrounding these lakes are 3000 feet high mountains. In the winter you can put on your cross country skis just outside the cabin door, or you can drive 15 minutes to a modern alpine ski center. In the summer you can swim in Vråvatn or Nisser, or in the numerous small mountain lakes in the area. There is plenty opportunity for hunting and fishing. There is also mountain climbing activity in the region.

In the village centre there are grocery stores, a bank, two hotels, and a hairdresser. From Vrådal you can make day trips to the mighty fjords of western Norway, or the small coastal towns of the South East.

THE DALE FARM
Dale is an old estate, mentioned in written publications from the 17th century. Once the home of five families, only one is still living on the property.

Traditionally the keeping of domestic animals provided most of the income, supplemented by forestry, hunting and fishing. In modern times these have been replaced by tourism, and the owners have most of their income from outside the farm.
